Training:

We at Silicon Valley Micro Service realize a clean, well working microscope is just one part of the equation. You must know how to use your microscope properly to get the most out of it. Since very little, if any, microscope training is taught at college we have decided to fill that void. SVMS is offering an on site, comprehensive, training program that will give your company the tools needed to optimize your experience on your microscope.

Operational training includes:

On site training with your microscopes

            Proper instrument setup:

How to properly align the light scores (bulb filament adjustment, adjust diaphragms and

apertures, proper aligned of the condensers for collier illumination…)

How to set up focus block stops.

Adjusting the eyepieces to maintain parfocality.

            Lighting techniques and filtration:

You will be instructed in the proper use of apertures and diaphragms to

optimize contrast and depth of focus.

We will go over the use and application of different filters.

            Application of lighting techniques;

DIC (also known as normarski) Differential Interference Contrast.

                    Polarized light.

                    Florescence illumination.

                     Phase contrast.

                     UV and IR illumination.

Matching the correct microscope for the inspecting application.

Maintenance training includes:

What cleaning chemicals to use and what chemicals not to use.

Proper cleaning techniques so as not to damage optical coating.

How to check proper optical alignment

How to replace light bulbs and align the filament.

            Instruction on lubrication and application.

The proper procedure to diagnose serious mechanical and optical

problems and refer them to our service department.
